Advisor of Industries and Commerce, Labour and Skill and Entrepreneurship, Imnatiba, paid a surprise visit to Nagaland Fruit & Vegetable Processing Plant (NFVPP), accompanied by commissioner and secretary, Industry and Commerce, director and other officers of the department and council members of Viola Colony, to verify rumours of encroachment on departmental land on June 20.

In a press release by department of Industries and Commerce, Kohima, it stated that on inspection, it was found that there had been some unauthorised construction.
However, the release stated that whereas the land in question had been leased to a private concern, for industrial development, any additional construction was to be done with permission of the department.
The release further notified that all present construction, at the entrance of the plot and rear of the plot, were to be stopped immediately and that the department would take necessary action in this regard. Department further clarified that it had no intention of selling the land to any party.
