India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 52k

 The nationwide tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases crossed 52,000 on Wednesday with many big urban centres detecting greater spread of the deadly virus infection.

While the Union Health Ministry stopped giving an evening update of the COVID-19 tally from Wednesday, its morning update showed the death rising to 1,694 and the number of cases climbing to 49,391, registering an increase of 126 deaths and 2,958 cases since Tuesday morning.
However, a PTI tally of figures reported by different states and union territories till 9.15 p.m. put the total number of confirmed cases at 52,345 and the death toll at 1,702.
Nagaland COVID-19: Results of 51 awaited
Out of the 763 COVID-19 suspected samples sent for testing from the State, results of 712 samples that were received had tested negative, while results for 51 samples are awaited, Health & Family Welfare department informed. Further, 3,126 persons were screened on Wednesday, while 80 persons are currently under facility quarantine.
