Individuals and organisations condole late Melhüpra Vero

Condolences continue to pour in for late Melhüpra Vero, who had passed away on January 24 at Dimapur.   

Temjen Imna Along: Temjen Imna Along , minister & president Nagaland state BJP unit in a condolence expressed deep sorrow at the passing of late M. Vero. Temjen stated that losing a leader of his stature was a great loss not only to his community, but to the entire state. He also said that this great man will always be remembered with pride and honor. Temjen conveyed condolence to the grieving family and pray that the departed soul rest in the house of the living God.
T. R Zeliang: Leader of opposition NLA, T. R. Zeliang in a condolence message expressed grief and pain at the demise of former Rajya Sabha MP, Melhüpra Vero on January 24 at Dimapur. Zeliang described late Vero as a respected political figure and a leader who dedicated his service for the cause of the Naga people. Zeliang remembers late Vero as a leader who understood the pain and suffering of the Naga people and his love and concern for the Naga people in particular will ever be remembered. While stating that his demise was a great loss to the Naga people in particular, Zeliang conveyed deepest condolences to all the bereaved family members and the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) expressed shock and anguish at the demise of M. Vero. NTC president Tohiho Yepthomi and general secretary Nribemo Ngullie in a condolence note stated that late M. Vero was an experienced leader, social worker and reformer, whereby his passing away at a time when people needed him towards building a better society has created void which would be difficult to fill. NTC conveyed condolences to the bereaved family  members and pray to Almighty God to grant the departed soul eternal peace. 
TPO: Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) in a condolence by president Timikha Koza and general secretary, Vipopal Kintso stated that the passing away of late M. Vero is a loss of father figure to Naga people and his absence shall be profoundly felt. TPO described late Vero as a true Naga leader whose straightforwardness and frank disposition always touched the mass and he had given his best to bring the Naga people together, advocating and reaching out with his all familiar slogan “Nagas are one.” TPO pay highest respect and homage to departed leader and convey sincere condolences to the kith and kins and that the departed soul find eternal peace.
CPO: Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) in a condolence by president Mikha Kenye and general secretary, Veduvo Rhakho stated that during his lifetime, late Vero had won the admiration of many people and was  a source of inspiration to many. During many crises his innate wisdom and sense of humour was able to cool down many a volatile situation and his indomitable Naga spirit was the driving force behind his selfless service for the people, stated CPO. CPO salutes him for being the person he was and celebrates his life, adding that in his death the CPO and the Chakhesangs have lost a true leader and a fatherly figure and the Nagas a true statesman. It also prays that God grant solace to the bereaved family and may his soul rest in peace.
Thenucho Tunyi: Thenucho Tunyi former legislator in a condolence to the widow of late M. Vero and children described late M. Vero as a man of self content and shrewd politician. He often used the word “Kevipuo lazo”, recalled Thenucho and added that whenever his advice was sought, he would willingly tender his sound advice. Stating that in his death, a great statesman, a guardian of Nagas and Chakhesang community in particular has been lost, Thenucho prayed that Almighty God grant him grace and mercy for eternal life.
