Inspection of NERLP projects in Peren

Commissioner and secretary to the government of Nagaland, Department of Rural Development, Bendangkokba visited the project district of North East Rural Livelihoods Project (NERLP), Peren on February 15. The inspection visit was sponsored by the NERLP.
District Project Manager, Ruuvilie Kotsu, in a press release stated that Bendangkokba visited the Punglwa B roadside market shed, Modern Pig Breeding Unit in Punglwa and the Gravity Good ropeway in Punglwa village.
He also visited the Road side market shed at Ngwalwa village, which is supported by the project. The need for managing plastic waste and rain water harvesting for cultivation was shared with SHG leaders.
The work progress of an integrated fruit processing unit at Mhainamtsi village was also inspected by the officials. The importance of market linkage was shared with the project team.
The discussion revolved around the need to complete all civil and machinery installations by March 2019.
Officials also visited a pig feed mill operated by the Peren Pig Producer Pvt Ltd. A hygienic pig slaughter house constructed by the project along with machinery installation in progress was also assessed.
The officials visiting the project district appreciated the work in progress and encouraged the team to continue forward and complete all in-progress activities so the community could benefit.
The visiting team was escorted by the project state coordinator, Ringsanbo Zeliang; DPM Peren, Ruuvilie Kotsu; coordinator NRM&E, Dzuthovoyi Kapfo; coordinator M&E, Prokreni Shri and Amos Newme Co. L&RM; Puisaube Co. MF; accounts officer, John Katiry and area coordinator, Lohe.
