International day for elimination of violence against women at Meluri

International day for the elimination of violence against women was held at Meluri on  December 6 under the theme “Generation equality stands against rape” organised by District Administration Phek, Sakhi One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra.

According to DIPR report, Officer In-charge Meluri police station, Medosa Yoho spoke on the topic “Elimination of violence against Women (Generation equality stands against rape).

VilenoKapu, Women Welfare Officer, district level centre for women Phek, spoke on the topic “Women related schemes & Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”.

Awareness on Sakhi 181women helpline was delivered by counsellor, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Beweu Marhu.

Earlier, EAC Lephori, Pukha Lam led the flagging off solitary walk. The programme was chaired by centre administrator, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Jitsiasa Nyusou and attended by all women leaders of Meluri town Churches, women welfare society Meluri town, colony members and Pochury Mothers’ Association.
