Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) inaugurated the first bio-toilet in Nagaland at fuel retail outlet Nagarjan service station, on Saturday. This is also the second bio-toilet in the North East. The bio-toilet was inaugurated by HR director of IOCL, Ranjan K Mohapatra.

Bio-toilets are different from traditional toilets as human excreta is decomposed in a digester tank using specific high graded bacteria (aerobic or anaerobic) further converting it into methane gas, carbon dioxide and water. It saves water and keeps the environment clean.

Ranjan K Mohapatra, in his brief address before the inauguration, congratulated the IOCL team at Nagarjan for the unique addition to the outlet and urged officials and staff of IOCL to live up to the faith reposed on them by the public.

Chief general manager of IOCL’s Assam Oil Division, Uttiya Bhattacharya, who also spoke on the occasion, proposed setting up more such retails outlets while also suggesting the retail outlet at Nagarjan build a canopy and an improved driveway.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
