To impart skill development training in cutting and tailoring, director Urban Development, Takatuba Aier inaugurated Incessant Welfare Society Nagaland (IWSN) training institute, Kohima branch at Officer’s Hill here on Monday.

In his address, the director pointed out that every year around 3,000 graduated in the state and that the government cannot accommodate all the graduates but imparting skill development training will help them to acquire suitable employment opportunities.  

He highlighted on the few training institutes in Kohima and encouraged expansion on providing training on other applicable trade.  In addition to the facilities provided by the Urban Development department to start training institute, he also highlighted on the facilities provided by other departments. The director further cautioned the training institute to strictly adhere to the guidelines laid down by the ministry.   

IWSN president, Azungla Imsong appraised that IWSN is an NGO, running for 13 years, with its head office in Dimapur and had been accorded five stars from skill India.

She said that the institute in Kohima will initially provide cutting and tailoring training. H Mukam also spoke at the inauguration and the programme began with an invocation by Asang. The programme was chaired by administrator IWSN Kohima, Akumla Longchari.  

The institute will provide courses on cutting and tailoring certificate from on Monday to Friday for three months.
