JAC formed to tackle anomalies in NEHU

The three sections of stakeholders of the North Eastern Hill University represented by NEHU Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA), NEHU Non-Teaching Association (NEHUNSA) and NEHU Students’ Union (NEHUSU), Shillong  have formed Joint Action Committee (JAC) to tackle the numerous anomalies in the University; serious common concerns and issues pertaining to students, employees and teachers and in overall. 

A press release by the JAC chairman and professor of NEHU, Dr. X. P. Mao alleged that series of violations of Act, Statute and Ordinances of the university by the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and others have created an unhealthy atmosphere in the University.  

The release stated all the three associations have decided to address all common issues due to which the university has deteriorated. The release added that the JAC was formed after the all out violation, failure, inefficient and incompetent handling of the affairs of the University by the incumbent VC and the Registrar

The JAC shall work out due course of action in order to restore healthy, democratic and congenial atmosphere in the university and to save the university from further sinking, the release further stated.
