Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Tening Town unit has expressed displeasure over the July 7 “protest rally” in Tening Town  called by “few people” and said the rally was “totally uncalled for and not mandated by any organisation in the town”.

In a press release, NDPP Tening Town unit, president, Mairisi said the “protest rally” was not announced nor consultation was done for the rally with any public leaders or organisations in the town.
When the whole Peren district is under total lockdown, the unit said it could not understand how the rally could be conducted violating the lockdown orders and thereby, posing risk for the spread of corona virus in the town.
The unit has also requested all the citizens of Tening town to remain vigilant, stay safe and cooperate with the sub division task force in combating the deadly virus from spreading.
The unit has also appreciated and acknowledged the huge sacrifices made by the sub division task force including all frontline workers headed by the able leadership of ADC Tening.
