Kaito graces Asuto town  golden jubilee celebration

Asuto town (EAC headquarter) under Aghunato administrative circle, celebrated its golden jubilee on February 21 at EAC office compound under the theme, “lakhi shino thuwuni” (growth in unison) with G Kaito Aye, minister, Agriculture and Cooperation as special guest. 

According to DIPR, while speaking at the occasion, the minister said that jubilee was a time to celebrate the efforts of the initiators, a time to relive the wonderful memories gone by and to pray for a blessed future till the next momentous jubilee. He added that Asuto town celebrating 50 years of its existence could have been better and well-equipped in all aspects had the people, irrespective of status, worked as one for the welfare of the people.

He also appealed to the gathering especially the leaders and people of the area to be cooperative towards the government and to extend their sincere efforts to bring about changes on developmental aspects. While thanking the planning committee for inviting him to be a part of the celebration he promised that he would put his sincere efforts towards some developmental works in the area. 

Khehovi Yepthomi advisor, Tourism, Art and Culture delivered the welcome address, Pukhayi Sumi, advisor Food and Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection and Taxes spoke on his views on the evolvement of Asuto town and his aims to evolve further in the near future, while greetings on behalf of the Sumis was delivered by Hekushe Shikhu, president Sumi Hoho. 

Earlier, the celebration began with unveiling of the jubilee monolith and souvenir by the special guest in the presence of advisors Pukhayi Sumi, Khehovi Yepthomi, Peter Lichamo deputy commissioner, Uniel Kichu, superintendent of Police, Hekushe Shikhu president Sumi Hoho and Khehoshe Yepthomi president NDPP. 

Earlier, the occasion saw cultural items, indigenous songs and activities.
