Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has welcomed the decision of the Urban Development Department to cancel the e-Procurement Notice Invitation for Bids (IFB).

In a press release, KDCC president Kevi Vizo appreciated the department for accepting its appeal, through the local dailies, to take cognizance that such tenders would only encourage corruption.

Kohima District Congress Committee also lauded the sagacity of officials, who were present at the 11th state level technical committee meeting held on November 7, 2019 wherein it decided to cancel the IFB through Bid No. EE/UDD/AMRUT/TENDER/2016-17(Pt) dated 18th October, 2019.

The committee reiterated that no government department should insert such unwanted clauses discouraging the contractors to bid lowest for any work.

Kohima District Congress Committee said it would continue to stand firm against any such corrupt practice followed by the government departments even in the days to come.

The committee further stated that the Urban Development Department should divide various contract works as per the colonies and wards so that the young upcoming entrepreneurs can take up the works easily.
