KDCC reacts to NGRC-1CU statement

Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) on Tuesday said it was “dumbfounded” at the Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors Union (NGRC-1CU) urging the state government to issue a directive to disqualify contractor who quotes below the Schedule of Rates (SOR)  during the tender process.

In a press statement, KDCC president Kevi Vizo said it regarded members of NGRC-1CU as seasoned and high level contractors in the State, who were capable of filing tenders much beyond the SOR. But opined that they should consider the apathy of young contractors and others who were willing to give service below the SOR, which will save the public fund meant for developmental works.
In this regard, KDCC appealed NGRC-1CU to reconsider for the future of the young Naga entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, KDCC said considering the welfare of the upcoming young Nagas venturing into contract and entrepreneurship, it has been fighting against the state Government departments notifying that tenders quoted below the SOR will not be acceptable.
This led to the recent cancellation of e-Procurement Notice Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by Urban Development department. KDCC further affirmed that it will continued to take the issue and leave no stone unturned in the event of  any such measures adopted by any government departments.
