Anoop Khinchi IAS, outgoing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur was accorded an official farewell here on Wednesday attended by incoming DC Rajesh Soundararajan IAS, Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo IPS, district administration officials and representatives of civil society organisations (CSOs) and others.

In his speech, Khinchi credited teamwork as the main driving force for the successful activities taken up in Dimapur during his tenure, especially in the fight against COVID 19 pandemic. 

He thanked and also lauded police, medical team, administrative officials, sanitary workers, Red Cross, conveners of various committees, media, CSOs, NGOs, churches and citizens of Dimapur for extending their full support and cooperation to him. Khinchi said he was touched by their response and also urged upon them to render the same cooperation with his successor. He described the new incumbent as an efficient young officer and felt that the State government had taken the right decision to post him to Dimapur. 

 In his brief speech, Soundararajan remarked that his predecessor had set a strong foundation in place for handling the COVID 19 pandemic. 

He assured that together with the district administration officials, police, medical department, CSOs and citizens of Dimapur he would continue to work and guided by the benchmark set by his predecessor. 

Soundararajan sought the same support and cooperation from the people which they had given to the outgoing DC and hoped that Dimapur would march towards a better future with their support and cooperation.

Tetseo, who spoke on the occasion, observed that although Khinchi worked for a short stint of nine months and one week, yet had worked more than other officers. He said the outgoing DC was always accessible, dedicated. He said Khinchi had focused his energy for Dimapur district without even going home for more than six months. Tetseo conveyed his appreciation to Kinchi and sought his guidance even in future. He also welcomed Soundararajan and assured his of full cooperation for the betterment of Dimapur district.

ADC (Hq) V Lovitoly Sema, ADC Niuland Athrila, chief medical officer Dimapur, MS Dimapur, representatives from Red cross, NCD and others spoke on the occasion. The program was chaired by Revenue officer Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe while SDO (C) Sadar, Zubenthung Ngullie proposed the vote of thanks.
