Kigwema village receives wild life conservation award

Kigwema Biodivsersity Trust (KBT) received the Wild Life Conservation award under the category “Green Communities” in recognition for their outstanding initiative in wild life conservation through community participation. 

According to DIPR, the award was handed over by Subongnukshi Ao IFS, special invitee on October 3 at the programme to commemorate “Wild Life Week” organised by Kohima Forest Division, department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. 

Vilphre Zhotso, Forest Guard, Kohima Range received the “Green Warrior” award in recognition for his exemplary service to the department; Ruokuovikho Chale, chairman of the Kigwema Biodiversity Trust while receiving the award expressed gratitude to the department for the recognition and acknowledge the efforts rendered by the members. 

DFO Kohima, Rongsenlemla Imchen, who chaired the programme, thanked the recipients for their contribution towards wild life conservation in the district.
