Kiphire DPDB meeting

The Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office conference hall, Kiphire on August 13. 

A DIPR report said that minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, Kashiho, who is also the DPDB chairman, presided over the meeting.

DC, Mohammed Ali Shihab, in his opening remark thanked all the district officers for supporting and rendering their time during the disaster caused by the landslide which cut off Kiphire’s lifeline road.

Kashiho also expressed his happiness to the police and IR Kiphire for helping the district during the natural calamities in the district. Kiphire Roads & Bridges department stated that the road at Meluri sub-division was blocked again but in order to clear the blockage, the department has deployed man power and Backhoes, and the road should be cleared soon. 

SDO Kiphire, Longdiba informed the board that one truck-load of essential commodities has reached Kiphire district, provided by the Supply department. The District Administration also informed the house that at least 1000 bags of rice is needed as buffer stocks for the district.

The district agriculture officer also highlighted the planned distribution of power-tillers to 25 Village Councils under Kiphire district on August 15.

The minister said that street lights were needed in all the villages under Kiphire district through NRE. Also, to develop the economy, stone block cutting machines will be distributed to all the villages under Kiphire district through schemes.

He suggested that the board declare Tethuyo Village as a Model Village in Kiphire district looking at its development and functioning. The Kiphire district website developed by NIC Kiphire was also launched by the minister.
