The Kiphire District Education Office, in collaboration with district administration Kiphire, organised a Clean Election Campaign rally in view of the General Elections to the Lok sabha 2019, at Deluxe Point, Kiphire Town on March 30.

DIPR, in a report, stated that DC Kiphire, M. Shayung Phom, speaking at the program said that clean election was the people’s best defence against corruption. The DC stated that corruption often tries to undermine democracy through bribery, and thus the Clean Election Campaign was aimed at safeguarding and nurturing democracy through educating voters and inviting all to pledge to refuse bribery and violence.
Phom further encouraged students eligible to vote to participate in this election and exercise their valuable franchise. He also appealed to the students to educate their parents and elders to not sell their voting rights but rather chose their own representative with their own vote.
All the government & private schools under Kiphire Town took part in the Clean Election Campaign rally. The students held up placards and shouted slogans supporting “one person one vote”, “every vote should be count”, “don't sell your vote”, “your vote is your pride use it well”, “vote for better India” etc.
The program was chaired by district education officer Kiphire, Deenabandhu Panda. ADC Kiphire, Reny Wilfred also spoke in the program, and the invocation prayer was said by KTBL pastor, Chopongkyu Sangtam. Assistant DEO Kiphire, Kilangsangla Aonok proposed the vote of thanks.
