Kiruphema Youth Organisation sports meet concludes

The 44th Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) sports meet concluded Saturday at Kiruphema local ground with Dzuvi-u Zhunyu, vice president of WAPO as the special invitee.

Speaking on the occasion, Zhunyu said the tournament is to promote young talents for future and to bring unity within the people of Kiruphema and others.  He urged the youths to be disciplined and excel in their talents. He also stressed on the importance of unity and said it can bring peace and understanding.

Expressing happiness over the participation of all different age groups in the 44th edition, he said, “all players have added flavour to the tournament and portray a positive image of KYO amongst the sports fraternity.” 

Altogether, 426 players from seven different age groups participated in the tournament.

Kezie club emerged the champion in football after beating defending champion Kezevi club via tie-breaker. In volleyball, Kezekevi club emerged as champions in men’s category while Nourhe club was the winner in women’s category.

In the exhibition football match, Veteran FC defeated KYO executive council by 4-0.

Meanwhile, Kezevilie Hojha will lead Kiruphema Youth Organisation as president for the tenure 2019-2021.
