Kohima College, Kohima held its 52nd annual college week-cum-literary day from September 3 to 6 under the theme “Harnessing your Talent”.

At the inaugural function, the speaker, principal KCK, Dr. Ralimongla congratulated the students’ welfare committee for coming up with the relevant theme that keeps with the spirit of the vision statement and the mission statement visualized by the founding fathers of the college 52 years ago –i.e., the ideals of a holistic education concerned with the development of every student’s intellectual, emotional, social, musical, artistic, creative and spiritual growth.

“True Education should be an ongoing process dedicated to the progress of life…it is no more just a tool for career building and a degree is not enough anymore”, she stated.

Ralimongla encouraged the students to identify their talents by trying to recall what activity thrilled them as a child, and what thrills them now as an adult and makes them lose track of time. She stressed on the importance of hard work, precision, efficiency and practice to refine one’s talent once discovered, and on the importance of utilizing it not only for oneself but to help others as well. “It is these qualities that bridge the gaps between good and great”, she added.
