Kohima Football League jersey launched

The second edition of Kohima Football league (KFL), organized by Kohima Town Club (KTC), will begin on July 17 at Kohima local ground.
The launching of the clubs jersey was done by Vesupra Kezo, deputy commandant, 4th NAP Thizama at Where’s the Food restaurant at New Ministers Hill Kohima.  The special guest in his speech said KTC can nurture the young players and guide them to big clubs and players could represent the state through this platform (KFL).
Stating that most popular persons are footballers, he called on the players to make the most of KFL and shine through this platform.
“If we have discipline, hard work and team spirit, one will be able to become professional football player said Kezo. He also assured that the players will gain lots of experience from this KFL.
Dr. Viketoulie Pienyü, KTC president said that the club focus is on the concept of professional football, and higher level of competition.
Pienyü said that the league will change the scenario of football in the state and also wake up sleeping sports associations. Highlighting some of the achievement of the league, Pienyü said that 5 boys who played in Kohima Football League are now in Chennai Super League and 7 players would represent the state in Dr. T. Ao tournament. 
The launching programme was led by convenor KFL committee, Viketoulie Solo, God’s blessing was invoked by Pelebeinuo Khezhie and oath was administered by Ropfii Meyase.    
Altogether seven teams will take part in the football league this year. The teams are Ziekezou SC, New market FC, Twenty IX FC, Vanguard FC, Sechii Zubza FC, United 16 FC and Khriekesa FC.
The opening ceremony will be graced by MLA and advisor rural development, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire on July 17.
