Kohima night carnival attracts more visitors

 The ongoing night carnival at Kohima town organized by Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has been attracting more visitors day by day including Kohima denizens, tourists both domestic and foreign. This was stated by KCCI president Medozhatuo Rutsa while speaking to Nagaland Post on day-4 night at the KCCI control room. He said night carnival has been going so well with thousand citizens thronging the carnival every night without any untoward incident or complaint from the visitors.

The night carnival is one of the favourite family time for the citizens of state capital with lots of activities going on where young local entrepreneurs run various eateries stalls and serving local cuisine, selling winter dresses, kids playing toys and items, photographer booths,  face painting, make up stalls and others. Around 200 stalls were allowed from the stretch Y junction till Razhü point in the heart of Kohima town occupied the main road by diverting all the vehicles to towards local ground. KCCI said apart from food stalls and local crafts promoting local entrepreneurs, this year’s edition includes entertainment and theme nights; the idea is to promote young up-coming local artistes and talents, by giving them platform to showcase their talents.  

Adding more colours to this year’s carnival,  KCCI added more new activities every night  such as cultural night, inter-wards choral competition, Karaoke night, whose got talent?, junior’s night, Hornbill night carnival parade, oldies night and carnival night. KCCI informed that on December 5 night, Zapusatuo, Thepfuneituo and Vitouzo would be the guest appearances who have been gaining fame in the WhatsApp and Youtube that went viral.  

To make the night carnival free from any insecurity for the visitors, 30 trained volunteers were disputed by the KCCI and no security personnel with uniform and weapons are allowed inside the carnival.
