Kohima Police issue traffic advisory for R-Day

In view of the 71st Republic Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on January 26, Kohima police has issued the following traffic regulations to be enforced as part of the security arrangement.

According to PRO Kohima police, only vehicles with Car Pass ‘Z’ (Red) and Car Pass ‘Y’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with Car Pass ‘X’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the main gate and shall be parked outside the Secretariat complex.
It informed that vehicles without car passes will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat complex and shall be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road. No vehicles including two wheelers will be allowed to park by the roadside on January 26 from 6 a.m. onwards at the following routes till the programme is over: From Raj Bhavan to New Secretariat complex; new CM official residence, Phezoucha to New Secretariat complex; no driver should be allowed to move out from their vehicles to avoid any sabotage in the parked vehicles; heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme is over. 
It also informed that all loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7 a.m.
While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, it cautioned that the police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners.
