Konyak community celebrate Aoleang festival

Members of the Konyak community in Dimapur and Bangalore celebrated Aoleang festival with pomp and gaiety.

Bangalore: Members of Konyak community residing in Bangalore celebrated Aoleang Monyü on April 6 with geologist Achan as special guest and officials from NSUB and ENSUB.

According to a press release, Significance of Aoleang festival was shared by Atok Konyak, who shared about the importance of culture values.

NSUB president Zakietou Noudi and ENSUB president Apong Quinker stressed on unity among the Nagas residing in Bangalore.

They also shared how Naga task force was able to carry out a commendable job along with the cooperation from Naga organisations living in Bangalore.

Earlier, the programme was hosted by Theanglih P Konyak, invocation prayer was said by Nokwang Konyak and acknowledgement by Agin Konyak. 

Words of thankful were presented by Ms. T Theanglih Konyak. Benediction was pronounced by Ms. Pongmai Konyak, followed by sumptuous Aoleang meal. 

Dimapur: Konyak Union Chümoukedima (KUC) celebrated the Aoleang festival on April 3 at Chümoukedima with former minister and Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) chairman, A Nyemnyei Konyak as special guest. 

A press release by KUC stated that the programme was chaired by Honshen and Mine Konyak, KBBC pastor Rev. S Yoko said the invocation, KUC president W. Lemwang delivered welcome note followed by a special song from Konyak Students’ Union Chümoukedima.

Meanwhile, Chen Area & Mon Area presented a cultural troupe dance and vote of thanks was delivered by Konyak Union Chümoukedima advisor Y. Wangyim and benediction by KBBC women pastor Atoi. 

Short speech was also delivered by Longme development officer MDTC Nagaland Khadi & village industries board, Dimapur & tribal president Chümoukedima. 

The programme was attended by thousands of people in and around Chümoukedima.
