Kronu takes charge as NCA president

Minister for planning & coordination and land revenue, Neiba Kronu Tuesday took charge as president of the Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) at a function held at Red Cross conference hall, Kohima.  

In his acceptance speech, Kronu expressed his keenness and love for the sports, the nature and pace at which the game have progressed. He assured to bring the much needed coaching and training facilities for young players with the target being the school children. He said that the importance of chess can be seen from the fact that European countries has taken up the game as a part of curriculum. Indian states such as Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh etc have already made chess a compulsory component of the academic curriculum, he added. 

The other NCA officer bearers include; vice president- Mughaho Awomi and Visanyiizo Kuotsu, honorary secretary- Hekugha Yeputhomi, joint secretary- Vekukho Soho, Kevilekho Zumvu and  Kiyaselie Mere, treasurer- Ropfiivilie Nagi.
