The Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) completed its phase-II road repairing work from Lang river to Nokhu EAC headquarter which took 6 (six) days. It is the only road that connects most of the eastern Khiamniungan villages under India and beyond border (Myanmar).

A press release issued by KSU information and publicity secretary, l. Shingnya stated that as an apex tribal organisation, the union gives its top most priority in respect to road connectivity within its jurisdiction apart from educational institutions and initiatives as it is the road that will bring developmental activities to the far flung villages.

The release stated that the union has found many loopholes in implementation of programmes by the state government and the concern department. The KSU reminded that it will inspect all on-going works under its jurisdiction and ask all the concern contractors to resume and complete at the earliest possible.

The union strongly warned all contractors who have been allotted various schemes; both fresh or maintenances under its jurisdiction to implement it as per work order till the completion of proposed length. Further, the union also directed all the concern village councils not to issue completion certificate to any contractor without the knowledge of KSU and as long as the projected road has been inspected and satisfied, failing which the union has warned to take its own course of action.

The union also thanked all the adjoining villages, Executive Engineer R&B Noklak and individuals for their supports  and contributions towards the unions initiatives.
