The Karbi Student Union has expressed its resentment over the abnormal hike in admission charge of Diphu B.Ed College. The student’s body has sought the intervention of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in the matter. The students’ organization, through a letter, has urged the Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in-charge of Higher Education to slash the fee to a reasonable amount. The students body mentioned in the letter that they are surprised over the sudden increase of B.Ed course fees to Rs. 1,20,000 for the session 2019 and onwards from Rs. 55,000.
The KSU stated that Diphu B.Ed College was established  to provide  better education to economically poor students of Karbi Anglong  but  the present fee structure is simply unbearable. The organization is of the view that education is not a privilege for the few but everybody’s rights.
