KTC beat KPC in exhibition football match

Kohima Town Club (KTC) beat Kohima Press Club (KPC) by 2-1 in an exhibition football match played in memory of Lt. Xavier Rutsa at Kohima local ground on August 18. 

Both the goals for Kohima Town Club were scored by Vesupra Kezo and the lone goal for Kohima Press Club was netted by Ketouvilie Kire. Agulie Dul of Kohima Town Club was adjudged the best player while Zhovezo Resü of Kohima Press Club was named the best goalkeeper. The running trophy of the exhibition match was handed to president of Kohima Town Club, Dr. Viketuolie Pienyu by KPC general secretary, Alice Yhoshü

Earlier, secretary of organizing committee, Vikholie Yiese in his eulogy said that KTC and KPC pay tribute to Lt. Xavier Rutsa through the exhibition match. Lt. Xavier was one of the founding members of KTC and served as the media head till his last breath. 

While recalling Lt. Xavier as a person who had immensely contributed to both journalism and sports, and considering the keen interest he had towards football, general secretary of KPC, Alice Yhoshü said, “it is only apt that he is remembered and honoured through this beautiful game.” Lt. Xavier passed away while serving as the president of the Kohima Press Club. 

The program was led Vibi Yhokha, God’s blessing was invoked by Khedi Baptist Church associate pastor, Kezhachiituo Miachieo and a special song was presented by Dziesekhrienuo Keretsü. 

The programme was attended by family members of Lt. Xavier Rutsa, members of KTC, KPC, friends and well wishers.
