DIMAPUR, AUG 5 (NPN) | Publish Date: 8/5/2020 12:45:36 PM IST

Affirming the December 12, 2007 ENPO declaration of “peace zone” under its jurisdiction, the Konyak Union (KU) Branch Tobu and Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU) have condemned the killing of Mulong Chang, region secretary of Khango-led NSCN (K), allegedly by cadre of the same group in Tuensang on August 4, 2020.

In a press release, KU(B) Tobu president SA Ngamlao and TASU president Sangti Konyak appealed to the Naga political groups to “intensify and respect the effort of organization in maintaining peace in the jurisdiction.”
At a time when the communities across the state were in panic due to COVID-19 pandemic, the two organisations said that “such act of anti-peace movement by any individual/political groups” would only worsen the situation.
KU Branch Tobu and TASU have demanded the law enforcement agency to immediately bring the perpetrators to book under relevant sections of the law. They also expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones.
