KVK Kiphire conducts training

KVK (ICAR) Kiphire organised one-day training on integrated weed management and popularization of meghdoot app at Longthonger village on February 8.

According to DIPR report, Seroba Sangtam HEA, Kiphire highlighted on the use and advantages of different types of weed management practice which are indigenous and organic based. He urged the farmers to go for integrated practice such as cultural, mechanical and chemical as one single management practice would deteriorate the resources.
Temjenna Jamir SMS (agro meteorology) also made a brief note on popularization of meghdoot mobile App. She highlighted the various features available on the mobile app including weather forecast and crop advisories of various districts. She mentioned that the app can be downloaded from playstore from any android phone and is a very good platform not only for the farmers but also for the young upcoming generation who has keen interest on crop related advisories or crop weather in general. As of now the app has facility only for district level but in the near future it will also cater to the block level.
