KVK Kohima launches PKVY in Kigwema

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, launched Peramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) on October 14 at Kigwema village. 

A press release from senior scientist and head, Dr. Akashe Zhimomi, stated that, ACTO, plant protection, Michael Pienyii, spoke on mandate of KVK activities and encouraged participants to work hard and adopt farming system which was best to our local condition. He further advice farmers to strictly adhere to guidelines and for cohesively for of programme. 

The release mentioned that main emphasis of PKVY was to encourage traditional farming improvement through use of organic manures for popularization of organic farming in the district. Under this scheme, 5000 Kilos of potato tuber seed were distributed amongst 100 person. 

Inaugural programme was chaired by technical officer, Keviyieno, while, ACTO, Soil Conservation,  Zhiete, highlighted objectives of PKVY.
