KVK Longleng conducts 7th SAC meeting

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng conducted the 7th scientific advisoru committee (SAC) meeting at DC conference hall, Longleng on February 11, chaired by Dr. B. K. Kandpal, director ICAR RC NEH Region Umiam, Meghalaya. 

A press release from KVK Longleng stated that, Dr. B. K. Kandpal, urged alllLine departments of the district to coordinate with the KVK for the welfare of the farmers. He also encouraged the line departments and KVK to identify the specific problem of the farmers and carry out the technology that was beneficial. Director also emphasised about locally available resources and to utilise for better production specially for feeding of pigs and poultry. He also emphasised on terrace cultivation for vegetable crops in the district. 
Progress report of KVK Longleng for the year 2019-2020 was presented by Dr. Lily Ngullie, SMS (A/S) and the action taken report for the year 2019-20 and action plan for the year 2020-2021 was presented by Dr. K L Meena, senior scientist & head, KVK Longleng. 
Earlier, meeting commenced with welcome speech by Dr. K. L. Meena, sr. scientist & head, KVK Longleng. Programme was compered by Dr. Lily Ngullie.
Department from Forest, ATMA, Horticulture, Rural Development (BDO), Land Resource, Veterinary and NSRLM participated. Altogether 20 progressive farmers from different villages attended. Vote of thanks was delivered by technical officer R.Yumi.
