A case of robbery was registered at Gurugram, Haryana in 2014 for Lalu Prasad Yadav’s stolen vehicle.

Out of the 26 vehicles seized by Arunachal Pradesh Police, a Toyota Fortuner SUV bearing registration DL 1CP 4928 belongs to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, informed Superintendent of Police, Capital complex, Tumme Amo on Thursday, reports East Mojo.

A case of robbery under Section 392/397 of IPC r/w Sec 25 of Arms Act was registered at Gurugram, Haryana in 2014. After which, the vehicle was sold to many people throughout India. However, it was seized from a resident of Arunachal recently. The seizures, conducted between February and May this year, is worth Rs 9,34,000,00. It is the largest the state police has made so far.

“In all, 22 Toyota Fortuner, 2 Hyundai Creta and 2 Maruti Brezza were seized by the state police, “ said the Superintendent of Police.

“Moreover, few vehicles were registered in different districts of Arunachal Pradesh with proper documentation from the District Transport Officers (DTOs) concerned which include 6 from Papumpare (City), 4 from Kurung Kumey district, one each from Papumpare (rural) and Lohit. Fake number plates were found in two vehicles and 12 vehicles were not registered at all,” Amo said. The SP also said that all the cases have been registered under appropriate sections of the law.

“Both of the accused Vickey Gurung and Pasang Tamang were earlier kept in Jullang Central jail however, are now out on bail from the High Court,” Amo said.

“Gurung and Tamang who are from Siliguri, West Bengal works under a habitual offender Tarun Sheoran from Haryana,” the SP added.
