Late sepoy Lungambui Abonmei laid to rest in Mnp

Troops of Indian Army, in a solemn ceremony, bid the final farewell to Late Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei as he was laid to rest with full military honours at Leimakhong in Imphal West District of Manipur on June 15. The brave soldier made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty along LOC in Poonch Sector in Jammu and Kashmir on June 13. 

A press release by PRO ( Defence) stated that, earlier in the day, the mortal remains of Late Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei were flown in from Delhi to Imphal in an aircraft. Before being taken to Leimakhong, serving troops paid their respects to the martyr in a hallowed wreath laying ceremony at Tulihal Airport. 

At 5:40 pm, the cortege of the martyred soldier was paid last respects by the local military commanders from Army as the buglers sounded the Last Post. The Indian Tricolour was handed over to Elizabeth, the wife of late Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei in presence of host of relatives, friends and veterans of Leimakhong.
