The much awaited launching programme on rehabilitation and upgradation of Tuensang-Longleng road under North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) NEC was launched, Wednesday, at Nagalempong Zero Point Longleng by minister of Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom.
Last year on August 12, the formal consultative meeting and inaugural programme was held at Sakshi EAC headquarters 30 kilometers away from Longleng by Ram Muivah secretary North Eastern Council (NEC) and announced Rs. 188.61 Crore being sanctioned by the NEC out which Rs.75 Crore only has been already released to the department of NPWD for early construction of 51 kilometers stretch road between Tuensang-Longleng. This is considered to be the oldest PWD road in Nagaland constructed in the year 1950.
With the construction of this road, not only the people of two communities (Phom and Chang) will benefit but would bring great relief to the entire Eastern Nagaland people including Nagas living beyond the borders as this road will facilitate with one the shortest route to reach commercial city Dimapur via neighbouring Assam.
As the heavy machinery gets ready for work on the first day after the launching, pastors, missionaries, leaders from different organizations, minister and department officials invoked God’s blessings for better understanding and cooperation among the people of the two districts and for early completion of the road.
Others who were at the programme were head of department from (NPWD), district administration, Phom People’s Council, (PPC) Chang Khulei Setsang, (CKS), Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), Phomla Hoichemla, Police, contractors and public from 19 villages.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
