LEDP on piggery farming conducted at Meriyan village

Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on piggery farming was held at Meriyan village, under Wozhuro block for the SHG members, where intensive training on piggery farming was held from July 2 and concluded on July 9.

A press release from Meriyan Village Council (MVC) chairman, Alow Khuvung stated that, modern and scientific breeding of pigs were taught for six days at Meriyan community hall and an animal health camp held on 7th day of the training. 

Resource persons were Dr. N Morothung Ezung (VAS), Renpithung Lotha (VFA), Lanchibemo Tsopoe  and Khomesa Odyuo (community resource person).

MVC chairman stated that such training and guidance were necessary for development of the villagers and thanked NABARD for sponsoring the training, NGO and resource persons for taking up Meriyan village for LEDP programme. 

Altogether 64 SHG members from 7 SHGs attended the training programme as 3rd and 4th batch.
