LEDP on piggery farming in Wokha

Mass Educational Welfare Society (MEWS) organized Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on piggery farming for the matured SHG members from June 20 to 28. 

A press release from MEWS chairman, Lanchibemo Tsopoe stated that, resource persons were Dr. N Morothung Ezung (VAS), Dr Zuchamo Tongoe (SRF), Benrithung Lotha (SVFA), Shongmao Khumungyan (VFA), Yantsomo Ezung (progressive piggery farmer) and Khomesa Odyuo (community resource person). 

Modern and scientific breeding of pigs were taught for six days at MEWS training hall and a field/practical class was conducted at Pig Breeding Centre Wokha on the seventh day of the training. Altogether 68 SHG members from 14 SHGs attended the training in two batches. 

Training was fully sponsored by NABARD RO Dimapur. The next two batches will be held at Meriyan village from July 2.
