Legal Awareness Campaign in Zunheboto, Wokha

The Nagaland Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the Nagaland Bar Association, held a program in Zunheboto on April 23 at North Point Prayer Fellowship, SBCZ Zunheboto. DIPR, in a report, stated that the program was organized as part of a year-long legal awareness campaign.

SDO(C) Zunheboto, Temjen Naro appreciated the various activities of the State Legal Services Authority and spoke about how such programs benefit every section of society.

Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority chairperson, Niechochiyi Suyie thanked the GBs and various NGOs for their participation and encouraged everyone to learn about their legal rights because it becomes their strength and makes them stronger if they are well versed in their legal rights.

Zunheboto area GB Association president, Hetoho Yeptho, thanked the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority and urged them to organize such programs as often as possible.

Subject speakers, senior advocate, CT Jamir and advocate Joshua, spoke on the topic ‘Judicial institutions and legal services authority and NGOs and the law’. Paper presentations were given by Rainbow Ngullie and Khumchuba Chang on welfare schemes, the legal support system and the right to health. Dimapur Bar Association GS, A. Hukavi Zhimomi delivered the concluding speech.

The program was chaired by “Convenor Golden Jubilee Committee Chairman,” Akito Zhimomi, and earlier the program started with an introductory speech by Nagaland Bar Association GS, N. Hukavi Zhimomi.

Meanwhile, in a press release, NBA secretary, V. Hukavi Zhimomi stated that a second program was held in Wokha on April 24 at the VDB hall, attended by the DC, GBs, Dobashis, student leaders and community members.

With the first of these programs flagged off from Peren, the press release added that the NBA plans to continue its yearlong campaign in all districts. These programs are being organized in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA).
