Three- day Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) North East India Region Annual Regional Youth and Women Assembly Program (RYWAP), under National Council of YMCA’s of India, got underway at Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Dimapur on November 15.  The inaugural function was graced by National Secretary, Youth Empowerment, Women/Gender, Sports/Physical Recreation and Health and Healthy Living, NCYI, P Sam Robert, as chief guest.
 The programme was hosted by Dimapur YMCA and YMCA North East India Region under the theme “North East India – Challenges and Opportunities”.  Addressing the gathering, P Sam Robert expressed happiness to address the young minds, which he considered as the leaders of tomorrow.  Being his first visit to the North Eastern part of India, he looked forward to growing whole of youths in the state, not only in YMCA, but also in other societies and communities.
Delegates from various YMCAs of the North Eastern Region including Mizoram and Meghalaya along with a host of delegates from Dimapur YMCA attended the inaugural programme. The inaugural function opened with a prayer and devotion session which was led by secretary, Shillong YMCA, Shamir Thabah followed by welcome address by regional chairman, YMCANEIR, Joben Roy Myrboh.  Key note address was delivered by president, Dimapur YMCA, Dr. Andrew Ahoto, who is also the chairman of Livingstone Foundation International, the host school.
During the three-day event, business sessions of YMCANEIR, election proceedings of women chairperson and youth chairperson, induction of newly elected women and youth chairpersons by national council secretary, sessions on youth empowerment, etc will be conducted. Cultural items will be presented by the different delegates from various YMCAs.
