LH flays Naga Hoho, reaffirms dissociation

DIMAPUR, SEP 10 (NPN) | Publish Date: 9/10/2018 1:13:24 PM IST

Condemning the actions of Naga Hoho (NH) and its cultural and customary affairs secretary Mhonchumo Mozhui, Lotha Hoho (LH) said it was surprised to note that NH was still not aware of the fact that LH had dissociated from NH since 2008. In a statement, LH chairman Mhao Humtsoe and general secretary Er Mhondamo Ovung said the stand of LH was reaffirmed and published in all local dailies on September 6, 2016.

Hence, they said, Lotha Hoho would not recognise any Lotha individual who might hold any official post with NH or organisation and individual who might attend any programme/meeting of NH, adding such individual or organisation would be deemed “self-styled, illegal and anti-Lotha.” In this regard, LH said it condemned the action of “self-styled cultural and customary affairs” secretary, Mhonchumo (referring to the August 31 publication) and asked the latter to immediately demit his post, lest it took disciplinary action against him.

LH also reminded NH that Central Nagaland Tribes Council, of which the Lotha apex body was constituent, had also dissociated from the Naga Hoho on September 1, 2016.
