LNR urges GoI to respect spirit of negotiations

Liangmai Naga Ruangdi, the apex organization of the Liangmai Nagas living in Manipur and Nagaland, has expressed concern over what it described “the recent developments caused by the roadblock” in the “Indo-Naga” negotiations on the matter of Naga national flag and Naga Yehzabo (constitution).

In a press release, LNR president Kingudi Joseph lamented that “India has been belittling the Naga people’s aspirations and using subversive means and pressure tactics to forcefully impose the Indian mandate on the Nagas,” which he said would only continue to flame the spirit of Naga nationalism.

Therefore, the Ruangdi, on behalf of the Liangmai people, has appealed to the Government of India to respect the spirit of negotiations and deal with the Naga political aspirations with maturity and sincerity.

Meanwhile, LNR has extended support and prayers to the Naga collective leadership for their “unwavering vision for Naga Nation”. It also appealed to all the other Naga groups to kindle the spirit of forgiveness and fraternal bonds and remain steadfast in the “national endeavour” and refrain from “betraying the sacred Naga cause or forfeit the people’s support!”
