A coordination meeting of the Longmatra EAC circle was held on July 7 at DB’s court Longmatra town with EAC Longmatra,  Sangpangchang Longkumer charing the meeting. The meeting was attended by Hd. GBs, GBs, council chairmen and VDB secretaries of all the eleven villages under Longmatra area.
At the outset the EAC welcomed the gathering and extended his appreciation to village leaders under Longmatra circle for making the time to attend the meeting. He called upon the village leaders to be always on duty, active in their assigned duties as he said that leaders should be always on duty as many responsibilities may come upon them at any time. The EAC also assured them that he would visit all eleven villages under Longmatra Area when time permits.
While expressing his appreciation to EAC Longmatra for his timely intervention into many issues, Hd. DB Longmatra, Mutsothung Sangtam also asked the gathering to extend their support and cooperation to the administration. Hd. DB Longmatra also appealed to the villages to unite and foster peace for development.
Lamenting on the poor developmental activities at Longmatra hq. different speakers at the meeting asked the administration to monitor different development activities taken up by different departments and expedite them.
They also asked that police be deployed at the outpost, Longmatra being the gateway to Kiphire district.
Meeting agendas such as posting of adequate medical staff, taxation issue, poor road conditions, VDB developmental activities, jungle clearing along the stretch of NH-202  and permanent deployment of police personnel at Longmatra hq. were the other things discussed.
After the coordination meeting the EAC also held another meeting with the staff of his circle.
Bordered by Phek district in the East, Longmatra EAC hq. is 33 km away from Kiphire town. The proposed inland water way to connect Myanmar and India by river Zingki to Chingwing river of Myanmar is located under Longmatra Area.
Earlier, the road leading to Dimapur from Kiphire (NH 202) was blocked near Longmatra town owing to the breakdown of two trucks on the road which left many vehicles stranded. However, with the timely intervention of EAC Longmatra along with the DBs, the road was cleared at around 11 am on July 7.
