Lotha Regional Council (LRC) NNC (Parent Body) condemned and expressed concern about the “warning and stringent action to be taken by Z. Royim Yimchungrü (former acting president) and supporters against NNC (Parent Body) officials and Yimchungrü Regional Council officials in particular without any valid point/reason.”

In a press note, LRC general secretary Mhonyamo Kikon, vice president Khocherao Odyuo and women president Nungshumi Okhyopvui reminded that all the regional councils, sub-regional council, executive council members, women federation members, senior members, officials etc. during the general meeting held on March 7, 2019 at Lotha Tribal Council Hall Wokha elected the office bearers for five years, for furtherance of Naga cause. Stating that it was politically, legally and officially valid, LRC therefore said “nobody in this matter can question or terminate the elected officials with full mandate of voting in the general meeting.”

LRC condemned that the ousted leader-- a village GB and village development board member, cannot terminate the NNC leaders who were elected by genuine national workers.

“We will stand firm behind the acting president, vice president and general secretary at any cost and Naga political rights for freedom,” LRC stated. In this regard, LRC stated that any stringent action taken against its elected leaders and region president, GB Z. Royim and supporters will be held responsible of all consequences.
