Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) observed its 42nd Black Day at LSU Martyrs’ Park, Wokha Town on April 14. A press release from LSU stated that its officials paid homage at the graves of its slain heroes -- Chumdamo Tungoe and Thungkomo Ezung -- who laid down their precious lives on April 14, 1977 in a Police firing during a silent procession called by the union protesting the inhuman and barbaric act meted out to then SDO Wokha, Ngur Khuma Mizo (NCS), by Assam Forest Guards and Assam Police.

A short prayer with family members and floral tributes were offered at both the graveyards followed by a tribute ceremony at the LSU Martyrs Park.
