Lt.Thungchano Tsanglao 1st academic excellence award 2019

Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) organised a felicitation programme-cum-late Thungchano Tsanglao first academic excellence award 2019 toppers of the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC examination on May 25 at LTC hall, Wokha. 

According to DIPR report, late Thungchano Tsanglao married to Dr. L. T. Tsanglao did her matriculation from Government High School, Wokha (Assam, Education Board) in 1964, graduated from Mt. Tiyi College Wokha in 1981 and B.Ed in 1988 SCERT Kohima. 
In recognition of her outstanding contribution and professionalism in the field of education and for her service and commitment to social cause, the government of Nagaland honoured her with “district award” from department of School Education in 2002 and distinguished senior citizen award.
Late Thungchano Tsanglao academic excellence award carries a cash award of Rs,15.000/- (fifteen thousand) and citation certificate. The following students were felicitated 
Lothungbeni Kikon HSLC top 9, Eric Yanthan HSSLC top 3, M.Chumbeno Humtsoe HSSLC, Science top 9,  N. Nsungbeni Tsopoe HSSLC subject topper (Education-98 marks), Yachumaro Z.Kikon HSLC (Lotha-97 marks) and Subenro N Ngullie HSSLC (Lotha-93 marks).
The toppers while speaking during the programme attributed their success for the hard work they have put in and the constant support and prayer from their parents.
SDO (C), Wokha Chonbenthung Ezung while addressing during the felicitation function said, education was one single weapon that could make students into achieving their goals and also make them into better people. He also lauded the family members of late Thungchano for the noble initiative and encouraging the students and also congratulated all the toppers in different categories for the success and bringing laurel to the Lotha community. 
Ezung also called upon the students to have proper planning and vision as they start preparing for their future.
Chairman Lotha Hoho, Mhondamo Ovung urged students to be hard working because with hard work and dedication can help to achieve their targeted goals. 
He also stated that proper upbringing by parents was very important in shaping the future of their children. 
He appealed parents to bring up their child in the right path to make them a successful person in life. Rev. L. K. Tsanglao offered prayer of blessing for the students’. 
The programme was attended by the toppers, prominent citizens and family members of late Thungchano Tsanglao.
