Lotha Welfare Forum Delhi (LWFD) organised virtual felicitation programme on August 9 for Richard Yanthan on his achievement in the UPSC examination result 2020.

A release by LWFD chairman Dr. Benrithung Murry, and secretary Mhonthung Nguille stated that his success was a pride for Naga community and that he had broken the 13 year long awaited record for the state and three decades for Lothas.

NSA president Dr. Zuchamo Yanthan stated that Richard Yanthan was a role model civil service aspirant in the state and said that the state, which is presently going through challenging times needed young men and women with integrity, knowledge, accountability and fear of God.

Regional commissioner in ministry of Labour & Employment Mhonthung Ngullie reflected on Richard’s father, late James Chenithung Yanthan, who was an officer in the same ministry and was still fondly remembered by his colleagues as an efficient and amiable person. Ngullie encouraged Richard to break the status-quo and seek God’s wisdom so that his life would impact Naga society. 

Speaking on behalf of Lotha Students’ Union Delhi (LSUD), Lothungbeni P Lotha congratulated Richard for setting a good example through his success which was a manifestation of his hard work, commitment and consistency.

Richard Yanthan thanked the Lotha community of Delhi and also shared experiences of his UPSC preparation and the blessings of his hard work and commitment. He encouraged youngsters to keep working hard and have faith in God.

Earlier, pastor Chenithung Ezung offered a prayer, Dr. Benrithung Murry gave welcome address, prayer of blessing upon Richard was pronounced by Chumbemo Khuvung, chairman, Delhi Lotha Christian Fellowship (DLCF), while Nzanthung Odyuo presented tokens of appreciation to Richard Yanthan on behalf of the participants. 

Thungrhoni Kithan presented a song, Emilo Ngullie, host of the event proposed vote of thanks and Evangeline Odyuo Koireng pronounced benediction. 

The programme was attended by Lothas residing in Delhi and NCR besides participants from different parts of India and beyond.

Congratulatory messages poured in from dignitaries, some of which were read out in the function including messages from Mhathung Yanthan, adviser of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Kithan, Mhabemo Yanthan, president, Lotha Officers’ Association and Father Paul Thungbemo Yanthan from Rome, Italy.
