M’laya to host NE Food Fest

Meghalaya will host the first and biggest food innovation exhibition from December 4 to 6 in Shillong. The event would see the participation of over 100 brands making it the region’s biggest food innovation showcase.
The festival will be jointly hosted by Meghalaya government and the SIAL Group. “The North East Food Show 2019 is the first of its kind in North Eastern India, focused on creating a Global platform to ‘Inspire Food Business’ in the region,” a statement said.
The event is the region’s premier dedicated B2B platform that is aimed at marrying together the best of the North East and the best of the food and food processing world.
The event will have strong presence of all the North-Eastern States and governments showcasing unique products of the states as well as national and international exhibitors, natural-herbal-organic producers, processing companies and will feature experience zones, the north-east kitchen, conferences, the Chief Minister’s Conclave, chef wars and other activities.
The statement said the event will be an opportunity for export promotion, market extension, business development and building connections to enhance the agro-business and food processing potential of the North-East.
The highlight of the event will be the Chief Minister’s Conclave that will be hosted by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma together with the Chief Ministers of the other North Eastern States to deliberate on the topic “Charting of a new Course for the North East through Food Processing and Supply Chain Management”.
