A major fire broke out near Agape School in Chümoukedima around 6:40 pm on Wednesday in which seven houses were razed.  ASI Pete, Chümoukedima Fire Service, informed Nagaland Post that it was not certain what caused the fire though a short circuit is suspected. The houses that caught fire were made of wood. Three fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the flames.  Three cylinders also reportedly exploded in the fire. Property worth approximately 15 lakhs was destroyed in the fire.
