Man gets life term in Nugshilila murder case

A man accused in the horrific murder of Nungshilila at Residency colony Dimapur on July 4, 2013 has been awarded rigorous life imprisonment by Dimapur district court on July 11, 2018 after his conviction under various Sections of IPC.
In a gruesome incident, a 35-year old Nungshilila Jamir was bludgeoned then her throat slit and the handle of a broomstick inserted into her private parts at Residency Colony in the morning of July 4, 2013. 
The principal district and session judge Dimapur, Neiko Kanuo, after hearing the accused and both the counsel, sentenced Rekumkaba alias Rekum, who was one of the accused persons in the murder case.
The judge awarded punishment of three months imprisonment under Sec. 477/IPC, 7 years imprisonment under Sec. 380/IPC and rigorous imprisonment for life- imprisonment till his natural death, under Sec. 302/IPC. The judge also recommended a compensation of Rs.2 lakh to the family members of the deceased.
