Man who jumped quarantine in Kerala held in Assam

Railway Protection Force of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) apprehended a person who fled from a quarantine centre in Kerala onboard train number 13175 Kanchanjungha Express on Thursday. On receiving information from Addl. SP of Marigaon district that the person who belonged to Marigaon jumped quarantine at Kerala, the RPF / NFR immediately swung into action. 

A press release by NFR PRO Subhanan Chanda stated an RPF team lead by Inspector/CIB/Rangiya Pavan Kumar along with train escort party and striking force conducted a massive search of Kanchanjungha Express when the train arrived platform number 3 in New Bongaigaon station at 12:53 am today. 
The RPF team helped by the commercial departmental team during the search was able to locate the person Sariful Islam ( 24)  son of Abdul Latif of Mikirgaon village , Lawarighat Dist- Morigaon (Assam) from inside the general coach number  ER-14425 second coach from the guard van. 
On interrogation, the apprehended Sariful Islam revealed stated that he fled from a Quarantine Centre at Kerala and travelled by train from Parak to Chennai, from Chennai to Howrah by the by Howrah mail. 
On reaching Sealdah, he boarded train number 13175 UP Sealdah – Silchar Kanchanjungha Express and was supposed to deboard at Guwahati station to further proceed to his final destination in Morigaon. He was however immediately detained from the coach at New Bongaigaon. 
Later, a medical team of Railway Hospital, New Bongaigaon attended to and screened Sariful Islam. After the train departed from New Bongaigaon station at about 02:08 am, he was shifted to Railway Hospital/New Bongaigaon by Railway ambulance while following proper medical protocol. 
The said person was kept in an isolation ward of Railway Hospital/ New Bongaigaon for further medical observation. RPF/GRP personnel have been guarding him to prevent him from escaping again. 
All the passengers of the said coach were medically screened by Railway doctors before the train left and all of them have been advised to go for home quarantine as per protocol. 
As a preventive measure, screening test of all the passengers travelling by train No. 13175 express, Ex. Sealdah - Silchar and detraining at the scheduled stoppages of the train are being conducted. In case any infected passengers are detected, he/she will be shifted to isolation ward and the remaining passengers will be alerted for home quarantine, the release stated.
