Mangmetong & Okotso resolve to strengthen ties

Mangmetong village ‘A’ Khel in Mokokchung district and Okotso village under Wokha district, as decades old practices hold joint meeting-cum-fellowship was held at Mangmetong village ‘A’ Khel Putu Menden hall on October 29. 

A press release from seasonal chairman, Watitemjen Jamir and seasonal secretary, Benthungo Murry stated that the get together takes place a span of every three years alternately. During the meeting, it was resolved to strengthen the age old friendship and uphold the legacy left behind by the far sighted ancestors; a gift of the past to the future and the inheritance of the present. During the meeting, it was also resolved to conduct a one-day joint social work for improving the Mangmetong-Okotso village portion of the Alijen to Doyang (DHEP) PWD road on November 15. 

Okotso village team led by the chairman, Okotso Village Council and members included Chumben Ngullie, associate pastor, Okotso Baptist Church and T.L. Merry, general secretary NDPP. Earlier, the meeting began with a prayer by Chumben Ngullie and concluded with mass prayer.
