Manipur: 69 security personnel test COVID +ve

Sixty-six security personnel comprising 63 CRPF and 3 Army personnel tested COVID positive as Manipur recorded its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 on Saturday.
All 63 COVID-19 infected CRPF personnel were from the CRPF Training Centre at Kangpokpi while the three Army personnel were from Leimakhong Garrison (Army Camp), an official release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room said.
They recently joined their duties after leave, the release added.
Meanwhile, the state recorded a single-day spike of 91 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, resulting in the reduction of recovery rate from 64.61to 62.50% as recorded in the previous day. Of the 91 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 82 were males while the remaining nine females.
Including the 91 new cases, the total number of persons infected by the pandemic in the state rose to 1891. Out the 1891 cases, 705 were active and 1182 recovered .
